神奈川県鎌倉市の閑静な住宅街における住宅の改修プロジェクト。住宅は最初に建てられたであろうシンプルな形状の主屋に加え、内部の縁側、平屋の和室が増築されていた。しかしながら、この縁側と増築和室の繋がりは希薄で、それによって囲まれる庭も、しばらく手入れがなされていない様子であった。そこで、この増築された和室を内側のはなれと考え、それと対をなすように、庭に屋外用のはなれとしての床を設置した。これによって庭がコの字に囲われ、南向きの庭を家全体で楽しめるような環境へと変換した。
さらに、内部は間仕切りによって６～８畳という単位空間のサイズが類似していたが、間仕切りを撤去してワンルームとすることで、より光の多く入り、家族の集う空間を創出した。

Housing renovation project in a quiet residential area of ​​Kamakura City, Kanagawa Prefecture.In addition to the simple main house that would have been built, the house had an additional one-story tatami-room on the inner engawa. However, the connection between the porch and the tatami-room was sparse, and the gardens surrounded by the room seemed not to be maintained for a while. Therefore, we considered this expanded Japanese-style room to be an inside peeling, and installed a floor as an outdoor peeling in the garden to make a pair with it. This transformed the garden into a U-shape, transforming the south-facing garden into an environment that could be enjoyed throughout the house. Furthermore, although the interior space was similar in unit space of 6 to 8 tatami mats depending on the partition, the partition was removed to make it a one-room, creating more space for more light and a family gathering space
